SullivanLaw, Local Ottawa Law Firm, Pitches In

August 5th, 2016 – OTTAWA        SullivanLaw is sponsoring a one-day baseball tournament Saturday, August 6, 2016 (rain date Sunday, August 7) in Alta Vista after several local teams were shut out of a Kanata tournament.

After receiving word that the tournament in Kanata couldn’t accept any more teams, the South Ottawa Blues traveling team of seven and eight year-olds decided to throw their own smaller-scale tournament. Timothy Sullivan, principal of SullivanLaw, an Ottawa law firm which practices family law, civil litigation and wills and estates, immediately offered to sponsor the SullivanLaw Coach-Pitch Tournament 2016, meant to bring local teams together for a fun day at the ball park.

“We just want the kids to have a fun day playing baseball and demonstrating their skills,” says Sullivan. “They were disappointed not to be able to play in Kanata. The parent volunteers from the South Ottawa Blues pulled this together so quickly. I am glad to be able to support this event.”

Teams from the Orleans and East Nepean Little League organizations, along with the South Ottawa team, will be playing throughout the day at Canterbury Park in Alta Vista.  The SullivanLaw sponsorship of the event means the fees were kept low for participating teams.

“We didn’t want to ask the teams to pay too much, but any funds left after staging the tournament will be donated to CHEO, just like the Kanata tournament,” Sullivan confirmed.

All games are played at the Canterbury Community Centre ball fields #1 and #2, 2185 Arch St., Ottawa.
